Our weather has been wacky recently. It rains and suns at the same time. There's even thunder lately, which isn't supposed to happen. Electricity is zinging through the air. The sky explodes in a million colors at dusk. The other day the rainbows were so vibrant and deep that they looked like some giant generator in Capitol Hill was pumping a million watts of flourescent power directly into their bulbs.

My dad adopted a new friend. He showed up at the condo, begging for pineapple.

Sometimes Florida seems like another planet.
